How To Join
The swimming season commences on 1st October and concludes on 30th September each year, however you can join the Warringah Aquatic Swim Club for the 2020-2021 season from 15th September, 2020 and at any time during the year. If you have never belonged to a Swimming Club in NSW instructions on how to become a member can be found here. You will register in Swim Central first as the "guardian" and then you will add your swimmers to your family group by adding them as "dependents" if they are under the age of 18. Once you are registered you will need to purchase membership packages.
The 2019-2020 Swimming Registration/renewals begin on 15th September 2020. Members must renew their membership prior to competing in October in order for your times to be official.
Existing Warringah members will need to log into Swim Central and purchase a new season membership product each year. Log into Swim Central and you may see a yellow "actions pending" button, click review. If you are joining Warringah from another Club, you can find the complete joining/transferring instructions here. Note, if you have previously been a swimming Club member but missed a year or more hence have never used Swim Central, you will still have an existing Swim Central ID so do NOT create a new Swim Central ID. Contact the registrar for your log in details or log in here using the email address you used originally.
NEW MEMBERS (who have never belonged to any swimming Club in NSW)
For members who have never belonged to a swimming Club in NSW. New season membership commences 1st October, 2020 (you can join from 15th September, 2020).
The annual fee registers a member with the following swimming organisations:
- Warringah Aquatic Swim Club (WASC)
- Swimming Metro North East (SMNE)
- Swimming NSW (SNSW)
- Swimming Australia (SAL)
- Warringah Amateur Swimming Association (WASA) - optional for 9& over
Any new member under the age of 18 must also register a parent as a non-swimming member of Swimming NSW. This is a club policy, but also provides insurance for that parent in the event of injury at a Club, Area or Swimming NSW sanctioned event.
New Members, please advise the Club Registrar (email@example.com) when you join so that your membership can be accepted on Swim Central.
For members who belong to another swimming Club but would like to belong to Warringah Aquatic Swim Club instead.
If you would like to transfer from another Club to the Warringah Aquatic Swim Club please follow the instructions for renewing but choose the club Warringah Aquatic Swim Club in the dropdown box (instead of your old Club).
MEMBERSHIP FEES AND DISCOUNTS FOR THE 2020/21 SEASON
The membership categories and fees for the 2020/21 season are as follows:
8/U Swimmer (incl WASA)
Non Swimmer (1 compulsory per family)
Following the cessation of Swimming Australia’s national sponsorship with Optus and a decision by Swimming Australia to no longer fund the program, the Optus Junior Dolphins 8/Under Program
discontinued from 31 May
2019 therefore is no longer free.
The Warringah Aquatic Swim Club offers percentage discounts for families registering three or more swimmers. The discount will be applied after you add all the membership products to your shopping trolley in the one transaction.
ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHER
It has proven to be quite challenging to offer the Active Kids Voucher discount to memberships through Swim Central so we suggest you apply to Big Blue swimming for the discount off your monthly fees. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
WHAT DO MY MEMBERSHIP FEES COVER
Our Club is a volunteer-run not-for-profit community organisation which provides subsidies to eligible swimmers, and subsidisers camps, bus trips, competitions, professional speakers, and other sports professionals, and various Club run activities.
Our latest initiatives include the high performance squad lactate testing that our Club has fully funded. Lactate testing ensures that the most accurate and effective training is being undertaken within our program. In addition, with the help of a government grant, our Club will be funding the renovation and provision of the gym and equipment facilities to enable our swimmers to be able to work on their dryland activities in a professional space with appropriate equipment supervised by our own professional trainer, Julia, from North Head Fitness.
In addition to the government, insurance and other administration fees incurred by our Club, your membership fees also include comprehensive injury insurance cover when participating in Club activities. All new members will receive a free Swimming Cap.
Swimmer membership fees incorporate the National (SAL), State (SNSW), Area (SMNE) and Club (WASC) membership components plus optional WASA membership for 9 and over. Non-swimmer membership fees cover the Swimming NSW fee of $22.50. SNSW/SAL no longer offer a half-yearly membership.
